Below are links to articles by some of our teachers describing their programs. Our first two articles are by two of our talented specialists.
Thelma Lancaster
Thelma Lancaster came to Redwood Day first as a parent, and has stayed with us as a teacher, providing computer classes for our lower school, and integrating cooking throughout both middle and upper school. She also works to fill in the nooks and crannies throughout our program, providing extra support for lower school students, organizing and stage managing our school concerts, and many other disparate tasks. She has truly earned her title as "Interstices Director". Click on her name above or her picture to read about her cooking program.
Barbara Jerabek
Barbara Jerabek also came to us as a parent, and she has jumped in to integrating a hands-on, get-your-hands-dirty nature program. Our gardens are growing and expanding daily under her leadership. Children are growing the wheat they will grind when they study ancient civilizations in sixth grade. Budding 9-years old entomologists cannot keep their noses out of her beds. Come visit our gardens, stop and smell the roses, and say hi to Barbara. Click on her name above or her picture to read about our nature program.
