Extended Care
Extended care is comprised of two programs: X-Care for grades K-5 and X-Plus for grades 6-8, both of which are designed to provide a safe and engaging place for children to interact from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. We typically serve 120 students with a child/staff average ratio of 12:1. We offer multiple activities and strive to provide the necessary balance between free play and structure. Each staff member leads one or two activity clubs daily and we rotate clubs every two months. Beginning November 2, students can enjoy: Basketball, Cooking, Drumline, Fine Arts, Kickball, Monster Sewing, Newsletter, Pokemon and Take-a-Trip Tap. Study Hall is offered Monday-Thursday for students in first through eighth grades. We serve two snacks: crackers or organic fruit or veggies at dismissal and a prepared snack at 4:30 p.m. Students may assist with snack preparation, if desired; avoiding processed foods and using quality ingredients is a priority.
Kindergarteners will have designated X-Care staff to help with their transition during the first trimester and special activities for kindergarten and first graders only will also be offered.
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes are available to RDS students for a fee. Sessions are held in the fall and spring for approximately 12 weeks.
See you around the playground,
