Keep Growing This Summer

Summer provides a unique opportunity for students to continue to learn in non-traditional ways. Our summer programs at Redwood Day provide project-based learning opportunities based in specific subject areas to keep your students engaged and help them continue to learn and grow. Most campers don’t realize they are learning because our camps are also fun! Click on the Our Summer Sessions button to see a list of our camp offerings this summer.

Our camp guide is designed to help families see what camps might be a good fit for their camper based on their interests and schedule. If you have any questions about our program please reach out to our camp team at summer@rdschool.org or call us at 510.213.8436.

What Should I Know About Camp

Summer Camp at Redwood Day begins on June 23 and ends on August 15, 2025. We will be closed for the 4th of July. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (more information on our schedule is listed below) with opportunities for morning and aftercare for families in need. Our program is open to campers as young as 4 through our graduating 8th grade class of 2024. Camp is open to our whole Bay Area community and campers do not have to be Redwood Day students to attend!

Why Redwood Day Summer Camp?

Our Summer Programs at Redwood Day are designed to offer a personalized continued learning experience to all campers. We know that each camper learns in their own way and brings their own unique perspective into our community. We look forward to welcoming each child to camp and help them continue to Grow into Great through a variety of different camp programs.

8 WEEKS OF CAMP

JUN 23-27 JUL 7-11 JUL 21-25 AUG 4-8
JUN 30–JUL 3 JUL 14-18 JUL 28–AUG 1 AUG 11-15
TRADITIONAL DAY CAMPS Our traditional day camps are designed to allow campers to experience a variety of different activities throughout a given week. We focus on finding ways to keep campers learning over the summer in fun and engaging ways while also allowing for time to play and grow! Each week, campers learn and participate in activities designed around a specific theme led by our camp team.

SPECIALTY ENRICHMENT CAMPS We also offer smaller group specialty camps on a weekly basis. We offer specialty camps for rising K-8 campers that focus on specific enrichment activities and offer a lower camper-to-counselor ratio than most other programs in order to provide more individual support to our campers. Our specialty camps are typically based on a specific theme or academic subject to allow for a more focused learning experience.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CAMPS We offer 4 weeks of summer camp for our campers who are not yet enrolled in Kindergarten. Campers must turn 4 years of age by August 2025. Our early childhood program provides opportunities for campers to learn, play, and grow into great in a safe and supportive environment. Our program allows for freedom and flexibility throughout the day of camp with a 5:1 camper-to-counselor ratio to provide as much support as possible for our youngest campers.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT CAMPS We provide individual camps by grade level for rising 1st-grade through 8th-grade students. Our academic boot camps are designed to help campers combat summer learning loss by engaging in activities that spark academic curiosity and inspire learning in a fun camp environment. These programs are designed to help exercise the muscle that is the brain in preparation for returning to school in the fall.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 7 items.

  • What does a day of camp look like?

All of our camps are full-day offerings. We accept students as early as 8:30 a.m., and pickup occurs between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. For any families in need, before-camp care is available as early as 8:00 a.m., and after-camp care is available until 5:30 p.m. at an additional fee. Families must register for these before- and after-camp care packages in advance. We also understand that schedules over the summer can be more fluid. Early pickups and later drop-offs are perfectly acceptable.

Each week, we find a way to celebrate each week of camp with an activity, assembly, or celebration for every camper. This is typically based on the theme of our traditional day camp, but all campers are invited to participate from every camp. Students will spend the majority of their day learning through play, with plenty of time to socialize and relax. Any community partners who are confirmed and will be joining us during the summer are listed in orange at the top of each week.
  • When does registration begin?

Registration opens for all families on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.

Our Camp Terms & Conditions provide more information on our cancellation policy. All summer camps are fully refundable up to 60 days before the start of camp.

  • What if my camper wants to be in the same group as their friend?

We know how important it is for campers to have a familiar face in their camp group. If you are signing up for camp with a friend, please list their information in your registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate all requests.
  • Who leads our summer camps?

Our camps are led by a mix of Redwood Day Faculty and staff, with the support of seasonal summer staff members. Our summer counselor-to-camper ratio is intentionally low to provide additional support and care to our campers.
  • Is Financial Assistance available?

Our goal is to provide equitable summer opportunities to our entire community. All students who attend Redwood Day are eligible to receive financial assistance at their discounted tuition rate for all summer camps.
